Featured Speakers:

N.D. Wilson: author of the Ashtown Burial and The 100 Cupboards series, Ninja Boy Goes to School, and more.

Valynne E. Maetani: Her debut novel, Ink and Ashes, is the winner of the New Visions Award 2013 and is a Junior Library Guild 2015 selection.

Harold Underdown: A children's book editor, working as a consulting or independent editor and writing teacher and the creator of the website: Writing, Illustrating, and Publishing Children's Books: The Purple Crayon. Previously, Harold was Vice President and Editorial Director at ipicturebooks. Before that, he was editorial director of the Charlesbridge trade program, and has also worked at Orchard Books and Macmillan. He has also written The Complete Idiot's Guide to Publishing Children's Books.

Bree Ogden: literary agent at Red Sofa Literary. Bree Ogden is no longer available to attend our conference. 

Angela Ruth Strong: Local author of Finding Love in Sun Valley, the Fun4Hire Series, and more.

Amy Allgeyer: Local author of the debut novel, Dig Too Deep, published in 2016 by Albert Whitman & Co. 

Craig Lew: Local filmmaker and author of the debut novel, Breath to Breath, published in 2015 by Relish Media, the YA imprint of Little Pickle Press.

Sarah Tregay: Local author of Love & Leftovers and Fan Art. Sarah is also the Utah/Southern Idaho SCBWI Assistant Regional Advisor.

Critiques with Bree Ogden: Bree Ogden is no longer available to attend our conference. We are working on an alternate solution for those of you who have paid for a critique with Bree. We will let you know as soon as possible.

Saturday Critiques with Harold Underdown: When you sign in at the registration table Saturday morning, you will be given a critique time.

Friday Critiques/Consults with Harold Underdown: You will be e-mailed a critique time that is between 4:00-5:30 pm on Friday, April 15. Arrive early at Rediscovered Bookshop to be directed to a nearby location.


SCBWI members can register for the conference as well as add-ons: lunch and manuscript critique. The base price for members is $100. For general or non-member admission, the base price is $130.

Register by March 31 and be entered into a lottery as a guest for the Friday, April 15 dinner with the speakers and conference staff.
