How do the critiques and portfolio reviews work?
Critiques cost $50 for a 10-minute one-on-one portfolio review or picture book dummy critique with Jim Hoover. There are 10 spots available
In addition, to your review, there will be a 45 min breakout session where Jim will talk about common portfolio pitfalls.
There will be an additional 10 spots open for the breakout session which don’t include the one on one portfolio review. Those that sign up for the breakout session without a portfolio review will pay a fee of $15. For More Information visit the critiques page.
For illustrator portfolio reviews, bring your portfolio on the day of the conference. For more information on general portfolio guidelines, visit the Portfolio Showcase page.
Please note: If you sign up for a critique/review, you will miss part of the session or keynote going on at that time. Unfortunately, that is unavoidable due to a very busy schedule.
Are there promotional opportunities for illustrators?
Yes! In addition to our visiting faculty being able to view your portfolios, we invite many local art directors and designers to view the portfolio showcase and eat lunch with us. You are welcome to have one stack of promotional postcards for them to take.
